Learnings from the sensory congresses
This November, the Haystack team hit the stage in Utrecht and Bremen — two cities, two congresses, and a whole lot of sensory inspiration. From waffles to AI-driven insights, we shared stories about how research can feel more human, visual and connected.

More than 80% of the visitors still has to start
using video in quantitative research. During the session of Nancy Holthuysen of Friesland Campina and Stefan Peters of Haystack Consulting we learned that video is seen as really a strong asset but there are concerns about the amount of data.
Watch the video for a short recap.
Nancy shared a perfect demo of the power of AI on our Try&Tell platfom.

Looking fora way to really quantify video. Let’s connect.
The power of video in sensory and consumer research
Together with Jules Destrooper, we talked about the sensory journey behind their new waffles — a project that blended sensory expertise, consumer understanding, and video-based research, all enriched with AI. The fun element of course was the waffle stand. But we got a lot of recognition for both. The presentation and the new wonderful waffles.
We introduced 4 new sensational toppings. The winner of the day was the fresh one.

Ludovic in Bremen: “AI: already here, but not everywhere”
Our founder opened the conference on Friday in Bremen. His keynote was about the developments in sensory and consumer research. During the day other presentations linked to that topic too. Ludovic analyzed those presentations and according to him “AI has already made its way into consumer research, accelerating analysis, helping us see patterns in behavior, and surfacing human stories faster than ever. But in the sensory world, it’s still waiting for its big breakthrough. The question that echoed across the rooms was clear: What will the first real AI case in sensory be?”
So what do you think? Will it be about predictions or recipes or connecting various data sources. We are working on various directions and expect that there will be new stories to tell in the coming months.
